The sector with the firmest deadline of all.
The battery passport is mandatory in the EU from February 2027. VeroPass brings chemistry, substances, repairability and the recycling route together in a verifiable record, ready for the standard.
Here the deadline isn't a forecast -
it's a date.
Batteries have their own regulation, with a fixed date: 18 February 2027. Every electric-vehicle battery, industrial battery above 2 kWh or traction battery for light transport will need an accessible digital passport. Electronics follow close behind, within the ESPR.
The data every battery
will have to declare.
Chemistry & composition
Active materials, cell chemistry and critical raw materials declared per item.
Hazardous substances
Clear, machine-readable identification of substances of concern.
Footprint & recycled
Carbon footprint and recycled-content percentage per material.
Performance & health
Durability, capacity and a state of health updatable across the lifetime.
Repair & reuse
Information for second life, refurbishment and safe disassembly.
End of life
Pre-defined recycling route and recovery of critical materials.
From technical standard
to a ready record.
A per-battery passport accessible by QR
Unique serialized per-item ID, with QR or RFID opening the right passport for each unit.
Updatable state of health
Signed, dated events that keep the record alive across the lifetime and second life.
Layered access for regulators and recyclers
Public/private/regulatory layers: each party sees exactly what concerns them.
Interoperability with systems and standards
API and alignment with GS1 and EN ISO/IEC, integrable into ERP and production systems.
